Purpose
As a Scrum Master you are accountable for the Squad’s effectiveness, including how it interoperates with stakeholders, the portfolio and other teams. You are responsible for removing impediments enabling the Squad to improve their ways of working and increase then maintain their ability to delivery quality outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that Agile events are positive, productive, and timeboxed
- Encourage the Squads understanding of the Agile framework and enable them to improve their practices
- Help the team focus on creating high-value increments that meet the Definition of Done
- Coach the Squad to self-manage and use data to support continuous improvement in delivering change and value safely
- Liaise with Chapter Leads for individual development where appropriate
- Facilitate impediment resolution
- Manage and track impediments, risks and dependencies
- Facilitate stakeholder collaboration as requested or needed
- Remove barriers between stakeholders and Squads
- Help find techniques for effective Product Goal definition and Product Backlog management
- Help the Squad understand the need for clear and concise Product Backlog items
- Actively participate, share ideas, and drive improvement in the Scrum Master Chapter
- Lead, train, and coach the organisation in its Agile adoption
- Present on progress of sprint and quarter in terms of performance and flow metrics
