About The Role

Purpose

Work within a Client Relationship Team, working towards becoming a Financial Planning Director by supporting the team to achieve business objectives.
 
Responsibilities 
  • Support the Private Client Directors within the team to achieve financial, strategic and conduct objectives as defined in the team’s Balanced Scorecard 
  • Support team by maintaining existing client relationships to the highest standards and seeking opportunities by referral and top up financial planning and investment business this should also include bringing on new clients externally or through our marketing department.
  • Maintain personal and company regulatory requirements  
  • Support all members of the team with managing clients by supporting proposal writing, portfolio analysis, ongoing suitability requirements & other tasks such as ongoing client fact finding
  • With support from an Associate or Administrator where required, engage & understand all clients’ financial needs, attitude to risk, personal circumstances (including their tax situation) & current investments to propose suitable solutions & strategies to help meet their objectives
  • The above involves reviewing existing investment portfolios, and producing a detailed written review & proposal based on the 7IM Private Client Proposition and presenting this with support to the client face to face with the aim of converting the lead to a client
  • Develop and understand the value and potential opportunity of a book of existing clients in order to deliver appropriate levels of service 
  • When qualified to CAS level and signed off ensure you deliver regulated advice to 7im new and existing clients.
  • Maintain & manage client relationships by:
    - Continual engagement with existing clients of 7IM, deepening & developing the relationship
    - Providing ongoing support & administration to existing clients through the team
    - Regularly reviewing existing clients circumstances to ensure that suitability is maintained
    - Maintaining adequate records of all ongoing & pertinent communications with clients
    - Continually engaging with existing clients of 7IM, deepening & developing their relationship
    - Conducting regular reviews with the client & highlighting any changes, to include reviews of suitability of investments & changes in circumstances  
    - Highlighting wider wealth management and financial planning opportunities
  • Adhere to Private Client processes and procedures at all times
  • Represent 7IM both internally and externally
  • Other responsibilities and duties as are reasonably required by 7IM & the relevant line manager

Knowledge

  • Associate Directors should have a high degree of private client wealth & investment management knowledge, including portfolio construction, financial planning asset allocation, UK & overseas investment markets, performance measurement & regulatory responsibilities
  • Commercial awareness in order to identify appropriate targets, & to profile prospects of 7IM appropriately
  • Strong awareness of financial markets & the UK wealth management landscape
  • Awareness of the changing trends within our industry

Qualifications

  • The successful candidate should have either held the CF30 under the Approved Persons regime or be a Certified individual under SMCR regime
  • Hold financial planning level 4 certificate and working towards level 6
  • Hold, or be eligible to apply for a Statement of Professional Standing

  • The successful candidate should be articulate & project assertiveness, clarity, integrity & gravitas in their personal communication
  • The successful candidate should be commercially astute, disciplined, ambitious & confident in their approach to the development of their own book, displaying a high degree of personal ownership
  • Willingness & ability to travel throughout the UK as when required to meet with prospective & existing clients
  • This role will be Edinburgh or London based, with occasional travel to other 7IM offices as required
  • Possess a positive’ can do attitude’ and ensure 7im’s VPVP’s are adhered to at all times
  • Support and develop the 7im brand internally and externally
