About The Role

Purpose

A role within 7IM Operations reporting to the Tax team Leader.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support and coverage on CGT, book cost and income related tasks and queries
  • Assisting with preparation of monthly MI reports & documents
  • Assisting in the tax year end planning, including analysis, validation and amendment of client standing data to ensure accurate CGT and Consolidated Tax reporting
  • Liaison with third parties as appropriate
  • Provide support to the Client Reporting team where needed
  • Enhance, create and ensure adherence to internal & customer operational procedures
  • Maintain & enhance operational systems to maximise effectiveness
  • Interface and provide support to the business for the resolution of queries
  • Relationship with other 7IM departments as necessary ensuring procedures and controls are adhered to at all times

Skills

  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Organisation of own workload to meet deadlines
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability & willingness to research tax rules and regulations
  • Ability to contribute with well-prepared research and ideas
  • Ownership & Initiative
  • Good knowledge of operational administration
  • Competent using Excel

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of CGT rules and book cost calculation / apportionment
  • Experience of data management and controls
  • A good understanding of performance measurement and attribution analysis is an advantage
  • Knowledge of Pershing systems is an advantage

Qualifications

  • Candidate must hold 5 GCSE’s (or equivalent) including C grade in Maths & English
  • Completion of the Investment Operations Certificate (IOCTM) is an advantage

Other Relevant Information

  • This role works closely with others within the team sharing the workload and responsibility so a ‘team’ attitude is needed – helping others when required
  • Flexible attitude to duties as training will be given in all aspects of the operations roles and the successful candidate will probably have to provide holiday cover
  • Flexible attitude to working hours – sometimes the workload will demand additional commitment outside the contractual hours
