About The Role


7IM has an exciting and challenging innovative transformation programme, as a Data Analyst you will play an important role in the design and development of our Platform bridging the gap between the business and development teams collaborating with stakeholders and SMEs (subject matter experts) to understand and define their requirements. Provide the knowledge and expertise in the analysis of data structures, classification of data and lineage of data. You will bring your experience to a talented squad to further evolve the features and functionality we offer to unlock new value for our clients.


  • Collaborate with all SMEs and stakeholders to investigate, elicit, challenge, prioritise, communicate, and document requirements.
  • Collaborate with technical and business colleagues to define conceptual and physical Data Models
  • Map lineage of Data and information through existing financial and business systems to secure impact analysis for migration, enhancement and retiring of systems within the scope of transformation.
  • Define Data Model for Data Warehouse, Advanced reporting and Analytics structures
  • Perform Advanced Data Analysis to cleanse, classify and categorise data.
  • Support the Product Manager with the defining and creation of Epics and Features.
  • Collaborate within your squad to breakdown requirements and define appropriately sized user stories to be achieved.
  • Create process flows, functional specifications, report specifications that may be required to support the user stories.
  • Support the squad with creating and refining the backlog, achieving the squad goals, T shaping and running agile ceremonies.
  • Support the business with the creation or updating of training material of new features and functions.
  • Adherence always to the Treating Customers Fairly policy as implemented by 7IM.

  • Lineage and business process modelling knowledge an advantage.
  • Progress toward Data Analyst, Business Analyst and/other professional qualification is desirable.
  • Experience of retail investments and investment management would be advantageous.
  • Financial services knowledge and experience is desirable.
  • Demonstrable experience of preparing business / functional specifications
  • Experience of data analysis techniques and concepts.
  • Knowledge of the tools, Business process modelling, Azure dev ops (ADO), JIRA, Confluence, Miro & Visio.
  • Previous experience working in Agile.
  • Understanding of both Waterfall and Agile methodologies
  • SQL, Python, R an advantage
  • PowerBI or other Visualisation Tools an advantage

  • The successful candidate will be highly disciplined with the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • A hands-on and practical approach, along with good liaison skills.
  • A desire to work in a small team environment and a tenacious approach to achieving goals.
  • Travel between the 7IM Edinburgh and London offices when required.
